While video poker and table games are pretty much the same from one software provider to the next and slots generally only vary in themes or sometimes features, the speciality games offered by each of the providers are very different.
The speciality games offered by Vegas Technology, for instance, is a unique blend of video poker and slots and can only found in Vegas Technology powered casinos.
Bingo Bucks is one example of this type of game. Its symbols appear within a 5 x 5 cell matrix, with each cell independently generating a random symbol, as opposed to regular slots where columns spin as unified reels. The 12 possible paylines can run vertically, diagonally and horizontally.
After selecting the coin denomination, ranging from $0.25 up to $5.00, players enable pay lines using the Bet One (usually determining the amount of coins) button. Play is activated through clicking on Roll and consists of bingo balls with the various symbols falling into the cells. Payouts are determined by the payout table, with a maximum 1000 coin payout being awarded for getting all the letters spelling BINGO in the correct order.
Another example, Dazzling Dice, is structurally identical to the Bingo Bucks game, but differs visually. Instead of balls, dice marked as cards (Ace to Nine) are used. Payouts are according to rankings for poker hands, with the highest, 100-coin payout rewarding five of the same card values. Other winning combinations include any three or four cards of a kind, high or low straights and any full house.
In Poker Dice, a simplified video poker version, 5 dice marked with card values Ace to Nine are being rolled across a table. Players choose from four different coin values and here Bet One does decide how many coins are bet. Payouts according to the used number of coins are listed separately in the payout table. As there aren’t any suits in this game, suit matching hand rankings, such as a flush, are not shown in this payout table.
The unique feature of Poker Slots, another game based on the same structural format as Bingo Bucks, is that every cell within the matrix is served from its own, independent 52 card deck. In theory, this makes it possible for each one of the 25 cells containing an ace of spades. Hand rankings as in regular poker, for instance two pairs or a royal flush, are figured in the cells. The only real difference exists in that Poker Slots is also able to produce five of a kind.
