Microgaming is proving themselves once again as leaders among the software providers with this innovative concept of 100 Play Power Poker. Aces Faces 100 Play certainly keeps players busy as they try to cope with a hundred hands at the same time. This makes it a little hard to understand for beginners; however, fans of Hold’Em poker should get into this quite quickly, as play includes community cards which may be used to create as many winning hands as possible.
Sound can be adjusted to players preferences, as can the game speed (four speeds – from slow and medium to fast and fastest). The graphics are really quite sharp, but so many hands laid out across the screen makes the cards quite small and difficult to see. Results can be tracked with Game Statistics, and the expert mode allows Auto Play, where 5 – 10 hands can be dealt automatically at a time.
Besides being able to analyse hands, players can also get Hints, if their play strays from the optimal game strategy. Auto hold will allow the software to implement actions according to the optimal strategy. A Double option gives players a choice to either collect their winnings or attempt to double up by having a showdown game with the dealer.
The game is played with a standard 52-card deck for each individual hand in the game, with no jokers/ wild cards. Bets are placed on the basis of 100 hands. Players click Deal and are dealt five common cards. They now decide which cards to discard or hold. Auto hold (available in the Game Options Menu) will automatically place hold on cards it deems sound according to the preprogramed optimal strategy if activated.
The cards chosen for hold are then placed into the same position on the so far blank 100 hands and the remaining cards are dealt. Each hand is then assessed for possible winnings by the software and payouts are made accordingly. As the initial bet had to cover all hands, it is obvious that the object of the game is to choose the best possible combination of common cards for each hand and thus to gain as many winning hands as possible.
This is definitely a game for adventurous players, who will certainly enjoy playing so many hands at once. Extra excitement is added when the starting hand shows good, strong winning prospects. Players who are new to Poker in general or those with poor eyesight may wish to choose a different game for the sake of making life a little easier, but apart from that it’s sure worth a try.
